Life is a beautiful mess.

It’s a complex series of moments, but every once in a while, sparks of pure joy and clarity appear. Instances like these inspire me to embark on my creative process, where I aim to capture these fascinating moments in life.

Painting for me is about embracing the chaos and discovering the beauty that lies within. By letting the marks have a mind of their own, I find the most satisfaction in searching for the unexpected images that emerge in my work. These images — like moments — never show a clear or full picture, but through an intuitive method of gestural mark-making and layers of expressive color, they instead strive to reveal the essence of nature.

Using this process, I hope to reflect life’s complexity, beauty and abundance in each piece that I create. In my studio practice, I’m dedicated to painting every day. And in return, artmaking rewards me with contentment, gratitude and a sense of well-being.
